Alaska Airlines - Atrium at Climate Pledge Arena

Building a Space for Connection: Coho Films Captures the Creation of the Alaska Airlines Atrium at Climate Pledge Arena

At Coho Films, we’re drawn to projects that combine purpose, place, and people—and our work documenting the creation of the Alaska Airlines Atrium at Climate Pledge Arena was just that.

Commissioned by Blue Pixel Creates, we partnered with Alaska Airlines to produce a visually compelling and emotionally resonant film that tells the story behind the brand’s investment in community spaces. More than just an architectural feature, the Alaska Airlines Atrium is a hub for connection, designed to bring people together before unforgettable moments—whether cheering for the Kraken, singing along to a sold-out concert, or meeting friends for a night out in Seattle.

Engineering Meets Storytelling

As the arena itself underwent a major transformation, the construction of the Alaska Airlines Atrium became a symbol of what Alaska stands for: bringing people together and helping them go places—physically, emotionally, and communally.

Our crew captured the entire construction process, from foundation to finish. Using specialty motorized timelapse rigs, we filmed key moments in the build to compress time and show progress in striking visual form. These dynamic sequences helped translate the magnitude of the engineering feat into something both digestible and visually exciting.

The production combined:

  • Day-to-night timelapse captures

  • Construction site interviews

  • Branded b-roll for social and web

  • Polished final edits for presentation and internal use

The result was a video asset that not only documented a build, but celebrated a brand’s vision for public gathering, community engagement, and legacy.

A Feature-Length Vision

This campaign was part of a broader documentary effort to chronicle the full story of Climate Pledge Arena’s transformation—an architectural and logistical marvel beneath the original roof of the iconic KeyArena.

While our work on the Alaska Airlines Atrium was just one part of this story, it represented a pivotal moment in which engineering, branding, and community storytelling met. It was an opportunity to highlight how corporate sponsorship can be deeply tied to meaningful public spaces.

We were proud to work alongside Blue Pixel Creates, whose trust in our production process allowed us to dive deep, move nimbly, and contribute to a narrative larger than ourselves.
