There’s nothing quite like Freakout Festival—Seattle’s beloved multi-day celebration of psychedelic rock, garage, punk, and experimental sounds. When the organizers tapped Coho Films to film the festival and create an official teaser, we knew this couldn’t be just another concert recap. It had to feel like a trip—visceral, immersive, raw.

We didn’t just want viewers to see the festival—we wanted them to feel it.

Cinematic Chaos, Crafted with Intention

To match the energy of the festival, we used a mix of specialty lenses, filters, and in-camera effects to emulate the psychedelic edge that defines Freakout. Rapid cuts, film burns, soft-focus transitions, and handheld crowd shots all come together to create a teaser that pulses with the same intensity as the mosh pit.

Shot across multiple venues and stages in Seattle, the teaser features gritty lighting, wall-of-sound performances, and sweat-soaked joy—all bottled up into a compact visual high.

A Love Letter to Seattle’s Underground Scene

Freakout Festival is more than just a music event—it’s a community ritual. A place where local legends and rising acts share space, where genre lines blur, and where the spirit of DIY rock is very much alive. Our goal was to create something that honored that culture, not polish it.
